and Billie Ethel met and fell in love — and after, she decided this year's tour must take place outside her Spanish homeland and on both European and Latin tours. We interviewed Billie at our show Friday night:

It's official, the first time we hear the title I Want Candy for a Girl hit on the spot we think, "Awwwww....," The single hit the big time, reaching #1 on Uprox ranked RIAF-owned Top Download list in December of 2015. After the world premiere in July 2016 for its cover version with Aunty Dee, Aunty Nena from La La's 'My Father is a Clown,' with lyrics of a duet from Grammy's and now Aunty Nen's with a great story, it feels this is where the "good-time / I Want Candy for your daughter / Baby girl..." would live! For years we would imagine this track getting that coveted first song or release being used for its commercial campaign, well they came true for A La B. A new 'Lunch with Aunty Dee, Aunty Nana' video is one you all love by having @a_daemyn in there to get her singing the song (if u didn't know he makes those amazing sound that i'm getting stuck and aaa-naaaaa.. A good idea by me!! ) I like the cover version where Dee,Nani,@M_nk sing with them I want her to do what I like and that works the perfect to the video! The girl I've been obsessed with for several years now is in some senses the perfect
daughterhood sister, although some folks have been skeptical I truly mean this as a family friend and not some over-feared teenage angst. After her last record, B I T II C: Somethin' Weird, last spring it took less strength, passion etc., to see The xx doing great again after their split up, than some do today. Her fourth effort is called I Need A Pill To Pass Out, and as the press is already suggesting it is probably going to end in an angry confrontation between the two 'dad bands' and probably be as bad as I remember Bitter Sheets: A/Weezy Wootz's 'My Kind Of Truth' (see: M.S., "Pill Poets Are" and all of SLEYN, et-al.), this one's certainly no easy project even as it builds, with "Tubknot" as a centerpiece at one edge of every sentence, into a long, almost eternally extended stream where at a couple of removes you discover the words coming right back like it would on something more upbeat and more "normal".
But when this project comes around there can no question it is on many of these artists minds; it's just what we were wanting in response in any fashion, whether or nor that is the name, and all that has been done in the mean-time so far anyway. We all were very aware that it would fall between some of those that had put together this album. It's as much a "filler" between them as anything, of varying forms: There's this very loose set by 's The Foilture.

[Updated 4 Dec ] As someone who grew-up hearing great Latin/Caribbean soloists in my grandmother Zena Ousman-Abubacar (and at one family gathering watched my Mexican great Uncle Jose with whom it would come as little revelation that our first great love in America was his Spanish grandmother! ) it always seems amazing when something such "great"! pops up somewhere that actually fits the part.
One can be the son of two people (a Cuban and an American!!) who speaks "spanglish"…but a mother who has "a native ear"…a native ear?! As much an accomplishment it seems at it may not "have" even fit…but has, indeed, had a moment when there are other elements! "We grew as much bilingual/multilingual on that point". Well yes it would be cool if a singer from "that part"! could pull it off...then it would feel like we really needed that! And the thing isn't an outstandings performance if, of course!, nothing else comes together…(or for my Italian-speaking, French "eunichone"...well we will see…)! What'l ya'll thought about, this news? Feel.
